I tried various combinations now. Thats what i did.

I exported a hierarchical Taxonomy vocabulary (nothing fancy, no synonyms no double parents) just like:

Dog
--brown
--yellow
--blue
Elephant
--1
--2
--3

If i import that to d7 with the import module it kills the whole hierarchy. So i am not sure hwat i am doing wrong.

ok i found a way.
The export "taxonomy manager" option provided by this module WILL NOT WORK, it outpts something like:

THAT IS WRONG

The thing that brouht me to that was an info @the settingspage itself

<code>
Format:
vocabulary id, term id, term name, term description, list of first level parent ids

So as you can see the above export is wrong.

It took the vocabularys name "Programme" not its id.

Workaround

Use the TAXONOMY MANAGER to export and the import with taxonomy cvs import

Hi,

Thanks for your full explanation. I've commited a patch to 6.x-5.x and 7.x-5.x dev releases in order to get ids of parents.

For the first example, the use of "Hierarchical tree" format and:

Dog
,brown
,yellow
,blue
Elephant
,1
,2
,3

work fine.

I'm working on the "Hierarchical tree" export format, because many users want it. See #1208010: Formats are missing from CSV export.

Sincerely,
