Hello.

Whilst I appreciate the effort you are going to, to keep this module up to date, I have to admit that the English on your module description page is so bad that I really do not understand exactly what this module can do.

I DO understand that:

  • The module imports/exports to xml
  • There is some mention that there is a "csv" "aspect", but the only mention is that its not the same as the "xml" "aspect"
  • plugins can be made to create export formats

I DO NOT understand if:

  • It is possible for me to import trees of terms from a csv or from xml
  • Maybe i can do it from csv but not from xml?
  • If I can write a plugin to import trees of terms from csv?
  • If I can use this module as a base API to make my own module that imports trees of terms from csv/xml

This seems a shame. I would be happy to help you rewrite the front page, once I have installed the module, studied its source and determined what its capabilities are...

Regards

Christopher

Ive just re-read the front page, and it looks like all the information is about other modules?

Here, for example, is the text about taxonomy_csv from the taxonomy_xml page:

If you want to just import a flat list of terms, or terms structured in various columns to represent heirarchy, Taxonomy CSV offers a number of CSV-style formats and the ability to just paste the list straight in. Try that for simpler jobs.

Looks like I will be using taxonomy_csv after all....

Hi,

I've updated the front page. Front page presents only main features and other modules which have same objectives. In fact, there are more informations on other modules that on mine!

For Taxonomy CSV module, main informations are in help page, where you can find the list of import and export formats and a lot of examples.

The choice between Taxonomy XML and Taxonomy CSV modules depends of your data and of your knowledge of XML tools. Globally, it's easier and quicker to create a CSV file, but XML is more powerful for complex vocabularies.
