So far in my limited test taxonomy.module 4.7 is working fine - with one exception. The 'more' link in the block was returning a link to all terms in my selected vocab, rather than just a link to taxonomy/term/my_term_id.

Problem seems to be trivial: in the latest downloadable 4.7 version, taxonomy_block.mysql includes a field called TYPE. When taxonomy_block_get_block checks to see if it's building a term or vocab list, it checks against a variable 'type'. Being case sensitive (PHP, that is), the check if ($result->type == 'term') { (line 233) returns false, so the function assumes it's building a full vocab and calls taxonomy_get_children with the wrong parameters.

Simply changing the field name to lowercase fixed this problem for me.

Title: capitalized TYPE field in mysql causes taxonomy_get_children problem » but 'type' already is lowercase!

Yikes! Having changed TYPE to type in the actual taxonomy_block mysql table, I went back to taxonomy_block.mysql and found that 'type' originally already was lowercase. So using the 'enum' datatype in mysql must force the field name to caps?

In which case we would have to reverse the fix - and make line 233 check against $result->TYPE . Or not use 'enum'...

the field name has been renamed at some point in the past. as you note you may have to manually adjust either the fieldname or the code.
