When the notification comes in from a subscribed post, the message looks a bit like this:

Greetings, username.

A thread to which you have subscribed has been updated.

The subject has this problem as well

Also the from and reply to addresses looks like this:

"From: support"@domain.com.auReply-to: sup.port@domain.com.auX-Mailer: DrupalRetur.n-path: support@domain.com.auErrors-to: .@domain.com

i don't think the problem has existed since the 5.x-1.0 release. should be fixed in 1.1 forward.

the other problem about the From: field is fixed in a patch I posted here.
