Changing the comments view / template

You need to override the theme_fbss_comments_item theme function.

Something like

function your_theme_name_fbss_comments_item($variables){

}

in you theme's template.php file. Currently we don't have template for comments.

Comments on statuses are handled completely differently than statuses themselves. The list of comments for each status is built using a theme function, not a view, although building views of just status comments is supported and at some point it would be a good idea to use a view instead of building the comment list manually. So to change the presentation of the comment list, you need to override the theme function that generates them, typically in your theme's template.php file. Those functions are documented here (that's actually the documentation for the D6 branch, but the only difference from D7 is that theme functions get a $variables array as their only argument that contains the values you need).
