No, this issue will not likely be fixed in the near future.

The problem is not one which is in the Statistics Pro module itself, but rather in the interaction between the various other parts of Drupal. That is why the best I could do when I looked at it was to detect that infinite loop was happening, stop looping, and put out an error message.

I do not discount the possibility that I will have another look at a later time and will be able to find a better solution, but this is not likely to be soon.

Problem still existing, the module is sadly unusable.

Thanks for all the comments and interest in this module. It's been over a year since I looked at it, and I have now at least a year's more experience in Drupal, so I'll try and give it another look to see what can be done. My timetable is pretty busy for the next month or so, but hopefully in December (2014)...
