jochemvn commentedHi huma2000,
Yes this is possible. You can create a new message template. Just go to "structure" >> "message templates" there you can create your own messages that will be added to the activity stream. You can use "Create event" as an example on how to do this. Should be pretty straight forward. Beware that there's a difference between creating content inside/outside groups.

cheekysaffer commentedThanks for the help. I tried this and at least I'm getting closer...
When i create a message template for my content type using the settings and fields for "event" and "post" I do see some user created nodes in the home activity stream, but it is presented in the stream as an "event".
I have a feeling the issue lies with the fields used here...
I am trying to add an activity stream on the home page for when a node (video content type) is added by an user.
Any ideas?

deeray commentedI am having the same challenge but am trying so hard to understand this.
@Cheekysaffer's comment suggests that the new "message template" and "new content type" work.
If this is true, could you please give a more detailed explanation on how this works?

felipeolcav commentedI don't know if this could be of any help trying to understand the problem, but after creating a new content type we have some differences between the new content type and native one (as event or topic).
In native content, we have the tabs "default", "atividade", "Activity comment", "Hero", "Índice de busca", "Small teaser" e "Chamada".
In a new content type, there are only the "default" and "chamada".

If you want to show more of the display setting, you need to select or check custom display located at the bottom of the "Manage Display".
