I just installed the April 5, 2009 release 6.x-2.1 and I am seeing a lot of errors referencing slideshow.tpl.php, but this file is not included in the download. I pulled the file from my pervious version of the slideshow module and the errors are gone, but some of the features listed in the change log (i.e. Don't display next/prev buttons when there's just one image) are not working.

kkaefer CreditAttribution: kkaefer commentedslideshow.module doesn't require a slideshow.tpl.php. It uses a regular theme function. If you still get errors without a slideshow.tpl.php (again, I don't have a slideshow.tpl.php in my installation), please post the errors here.
I also tested "Don't display next/prev buttons when there's just one image" and I in fact didn't get prev/next buttons when I just uploaded one image. As soon as a second image is added to the slideshow, the links show up.
