This module adds options to scan URLs that have been recently updated with WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool through either the API Subscription or the Standalone API. It extends the functionality of Site Sitemap Index module to create a queue of URLs that have changed in an inventory of sites.
Features
The WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools are maintained by the WebAIM group at Utah State University. These tools leverage open source, but are not open themselves. The WAVE Chrome Extension and https://wave.webaim.org/ can be used at no cost, but both the API subscription and standalone instance have costs associated with them. The advantage of integrating WAVE and Site Manager is that the reporting about accessibility issues WAVE detects can be customized in the Drupal instance running Site Manager with Views. Unlikely many complete commercial solutions, your have complete control over how often scans are run, how results are presented and who has access to the reports you've created. A single standalone WAVE instance can be used as the backend of multiple Site Manager instances.

WAVE is a useful tool that can detect many accessibility issues, but it should be used as part of an organization's accessibility strategy that also includes accessibility training for developers, designers and content editors as well as manual reviews to test for usability beyond compliance for common accessibility issues that can be programmatically detected.
A WAVE report with no errors does not mean the content of URL can be easily navigated and consumed in a screen reader.
An automotive analogy: If WAVE was a car's diagnostic system, it might be able to tell you if your tire is low, but it will not be able to detect if the ties are bald or the wrong size... or if the car is currently on fire.
