I wanted to commit myself to bringing a panels 3 integration with the sitemap module.
Here's the scope
a.) Create a ctools tasks plugin to let users have the ability to override the page handler of the url "/sitemap" from being handled by the function site_map_page() to different function that can accept page_manager overrides aka to panels enhanced page.
b.) Create a ctools content-type plugin to let users have the ability to add content provided by the sitemap module as a panel pane.
kind regards,
Chris Calip

chriscalip commentedWell at least to provide a patch so people can review, test, and make better.
chriscalip commentedI am having good chuckle or i'd like kick myself in the buttocks as i write this (cause i already did some of the plugins needed for integration); I realized that with panels you do not need to make use of the sitemap module instead you can accomplish the same thing with panels and the menu_block module.

killer_tilapia commentedchriscalip, can you clarify your post #2?
I am running xml sitemap (6.x-2.0-beta) and panels3 (latest stable). I have pages managed by panels3 and it doesn't show up in the sitemap.xml.
For example, I have a panel page with a path of /news/fresh but when I check the sitemap.xml there is no entry for it.

chriscalip commentedkiller tilapia,
Well your post is not related to panels 3 , sitemap and menu block which is the topic of my post. Having said that I can understand where are you coming from. Standard xmlsitemap does not detect the panels 3 pages. I have not put in the time to research and find the way to add panel pages in xmlsitemap. Althought you might want to checkout : http://drupal.org/node/488348 .
Best of luck,
Chris Calip
