Hi,
I started to use this module, and I am very happy with it, once I was able to get it running. In the last week, it has been a huge help for me, speeding up development to level I hadn't experienced in a long time.
It just takes a long, long time. A lot longer than in any other framework that I have used. In the setup I am only loading up a single module, and loading up a single test, (with over 137 assertions), and I am just unit testing functions: no calls to db. A few of the tests have to create files, but they are only about 4 files created during the tests.
In the last 25 minutes, I have been able to run 2 tests, and I am in the middle or running a third one.
Is there anyway that I can speed execution up?

boombatower commentedThe module creates an entire separate drupal install (aka whole set of prefixed tables) which can take a while depending on your setup. Drupal 7 tests are much slower since it uses innodb by default, but my d6 tests run real fast...nothing like what your saying. I would look at your database setup and what not...otherwise not much I can do for you.
I plan a overhaul for d8 that should make it run faster...and I may backport.
