I recently issued the 5th newsletter using simplenews. During the first 2 newsletter (May-Jun 08) the newsletter went well. The last 3 issues though all users who receive emails @hotmail.com receive the email as plain text.

First time it happened I updated the module from 5.x1.13 to 5.x1.4 and the error persists. I'm moving now to the latest version but wanted to share this issue with you guys.

My assumption is something was changed on Hotmail side that is causing this and I'm wondering if there is any way to track this from a simplenews module perspective by checking log files, changing database parameters, whatever.

If it is only your hotmail accounts that receive plain and other accounts receive HTML emails correctly, I suggest you search the Mime Mail issue queue for related issues. This does not look like a Simplenews issue.
