It'd be useful to be able to assign a default permission for each content type so that all nodes of that content type automatically gained the default permissions.

this morning i was able to go in and set this for my content types. Users are still able to change the settings if they want, but the default settings i set are maintained from the content type.

What happen if you edit the node. Is the access permission preserved? Or are you having the same issue here: http://drupal.org/node/1127318

If not, please share how you have fixed it.

when i edit a node, the acces settings are preserved. I didn't make any changes to the module. have no idea why this is working for me now.
