swordofwar commentedIt would also be nice to have different colors for moderators who are using the shoutbox.
being able to "sticky" a rules message to the top of the shoutbox would be nice so you can state rules such as "no bad language or spoilers permitted"...

swordofwar commentedHere are a few more ideas:
- popout version of the shoutbox with a fullscreen display so you can read more messages at a time
- ability to change some .CSS styles using the shoutbox settings page such as shoutbox background color, borders, and input box background colors so its easy to match any site's theme.

I really like this module but each new version seems to see some change in the css which aren't documented. I have my own shoutbox.css but I can't get it to work with the 6.x-2.3 version (I was managing fine to customize previous versions but I find the new one quite cryptic) hence stuck at an older version.

AndrewPurdy commentedAny ideas how to change the shoutbox.css in 6.x-2.3 to accommodate my version? (see attached)
shoutbox-0910.txt is a copy of my customized shoutbox.css.
Shouts.jpg shows how my shoutbox looks now.

mstef commentedSorry, but that's a bad idea. Especially because the admin links popup on hover so you could accidentally click them.
How do we know who's a moderator? What are we basing that on?
Interesting idea. For now, I'd say just use a custom block or something like that. I'll consider it.
Just use the page view. (/shoutbox)
You're always free to edit the CSS of your theme to override anything in shoutbox. There are also numerous theme functions in the module which can also be overridden. Are there any changes in 2.3 that are confusing you? Get firebug!

superfedya commentedNeeded the Rules module integration for refresh the boost's cache when new message is added to the shoutbox block.
