Register a Drupal key not possible

The Advanced section of the ShareThis configuration page says:

When you install the module, we create a random publisher key. You can register the key with ShareThis by contacting customer support.
Otherwise, you can go to ShareThis and create an account.
Your official publisher key can be found under 'My Account'.
It allows you to get detailed analytics about sharing done on your site.

I believe the part I've made bold is incorrect and misleading (correct me if I'm wrong). See this support thread.

I think the text should be changed to say something like: "You need to register an account and enter the publisher key here to get analytics. If you do not provide one, a temporary key will be generated for you but you will not be able to get any analytics."
