According to the 'reports' section, this module has been installed correctly, but it's not working for me. When I click an image, it takes me straight the raw image. I checked on a few other browsers and it does the same thing. Can someone help?

Please read this issue and let me know if that solves your problem: http://drupal.org/node/1093466

And maybe this one is useful too: http://drupal.org/node/1138140

Hi!

I had the same problem and this helped me a lot: http://www.ericbrouwer.com/2010/january/shadowbox-module-drupal-45.html#...

Basically, I had to create the folders that the module refers to (the "libraries/shadowbox" in the "sites/all" folder) and put the shadow box source code (downloaded from the shadowbox website) inside the "shadowbox" folder.

Hope it helps! Good luck =)

It's still not working for me. Here's the code for one of my thumbnails:

<a href="/sites/default/files/carnegies_concept.jpg" target="_blank">

<img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/medium_carnegies_concept.jpg" style="width: 120px; height: 120px;" /></a>

For the first line of code, I tried the following, but none of them worked:

-rel="shadowbox"
-target=_"shadowbox" (after deleting target="_blank")
-Both target="_blank" and rel="shadowbox"

This is in progress but maybe what is actually done is enough to help you.

Using Shadowbox in Drupal 7

kpblcc’s picture

In some cases initialize Shadowbox Drupal.settings.shadowbox=undefined.
Shadowbox.init(Drupal.settings.shadowbox);

This code fix it:

(function($) {
  $(document).ready(function() {
    Shadowbox.init(Drupal.settings.shadowbox);
  });
})(jQuery)
manfer’s picture

This is not needed at all. The module does the initialization. If someone wants to use shadowbox in any page he must enable the auto handle feature, "Enable shadowbox globally" that can be located in /admin/config/media/shadowbox/automatic

The USAGE.txt explains how this module works.

I'm bumping this just to let you guys know I'm still trying to figure this out. I haven't had time to work on it yet, and I believe threads get closed after 2 weeks of no activity.

Hello, I have tried everything that has been suggested in this thread and I am having the exact same problem. I have followed the proper installation directions many times, and tested with the proper anchor tags. I will keep digging and post anything I find here :)

Ok, I found something that worked for me. Simple and stupid but it worked. Try to clear your cache:

Click the "Clear all caches" button located under Performance:

Drupal 7: Administration > Configuration > Development > Performance (admin/config/development/performance)

Still not working.

I looked at manfer's videos and oddly enough, when I test Shadowbox under admin/config/media/shadowbox, it appears to work in the test but not the portfolio gallery.

Also, clearing the cache didn't help either. :(

same here. got it working on the settings page, says it's installed correctly, but the image isn't rendered on the node. i also have tried doing some theme overrides using print render($content['field_image']) to no avail either. any help is much appreciated.

manfer’s picture

I added 3 new videos that show how to use shadowbox drupal 7 module: with core image field, with the auto handle image link feature and by just incorporating your own shadowbox links in your nodes and enabling shadowbox module globally.

http://www.manfersite.tk/shadowbox-drupal-7

I'm still not able to figure out why it is not working in your case. Your links looks correct as they are thumbnail images linked to an image and the links has the rel attribute. But what I see is that your pages does not include the shadowbox javascript library so no matter the rel attribute without the library it can't work.

So why the library is not being included in your case? I don't know exactly how you are creating the site, don't know if the shadowbox links are created manually, with image fields, with auto handle or with a view.

Please look the new videos and tell me if those help. And please tell me if you are using views or custom image links.

manfer

A new version has been released. I think it does not affects your issue but anyway please try this new version and tell me if you are able to find the problem with the new video tutorials.

I have figured it out for myself and hopefully this will help everyone else who's been having this problem.

1. Go to admin/configuration/media/shadowbox.

2. You will see two tabs on the top right corner. Click on the 'Auto Handling' tab.

3. Check the box for "Enable Shadowbox globally."

4. Click 'Save Configuration' and test your thumbnails.

Thanks to everyone for helping me. Your assistance is much appreciated. :)

I stopped to think about that possible solution because that one is on the first two links in my first reply to this issue.

Glad you finally found and solved it. Marking this as fixed.

Hate to open this back up, but none of the above solutions worked for me. I'm new to drupal, but I noticed that shadowbox IS working on my home page feed where the image link is "http://yoursite.com/sites/default/files/image.jpg". But if I click the magnifying glass on the page where the actual gallery sits "http://yoursite.com/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/image.jpg", it opens the image in a new window leaving the site. Thoughts?
