Performance issue in Session.
We are using Drupal's core session in our application which has a high user volume and considerable amount of data is being transferred to and fro sessions. As a part of application monitoring, we have observed high MySQL usage at times and also have observed application went down. Session table query taking more time to execute. In Session table data per row is approx 130 KB. During peak hours we have observed session table holding data up to 6K rows.
As a part of retrospection of the current implementation, we are planning to use the session cache module which provides us with the APIs to efficiently mange the session variables.
Can somebody please advise if this would help us in gaining the performance of the system when there is high volume of traffic.
Any help is highly appreciated.
