As a complement to the menu services feature request, probably it will be needed the path functions to be exposed.
The attached patch exposes as services the drupal_get_normal_path() and drupal_get_path_alias() functions.

To be considered for inclusion in the D6 version of services or higher. Note no patch was attached, this is simply for us to identify if we want to support this feature.
