This patch exposes a method to increment the view count of a node. By separating this as it’s own service a developer can decide when a node has been considered “viewed” by a user.
The new method available is:
- statistics.incrementViewCount
This patch file represents creating two new files (statistics_service.module, statistics_service.info) in a new “statistics_service” folder in services/services.

marcingy commentedIf the statics module is enabled loading a node increments the count. This breaks how Drupal itself works.
