Is there any way to use semantic fields in panels? It seems like the problem (and perhaps solution) is a bit like with fences here (#1529242: Support for fences to render a field in a panel pane).
When hiding the field output in the normal field display form there doesn't seem to be a way using panels to select the semantic field markup.
Is there a workaround or will this require a patch? Currently we simply don't hide the fields which causes performance issues. The semantic field markup is being applied this way when the field is rendered in panels.
