There has been some work on 2 different ports for Drupal 8. The one that is the most recent, and I feel is the furthest along and closest to the D7 version featurewise is the the sandbox created by Gabor: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/goba/2632462.

Other than a few bugs listed on the sandbox I think this is a good start to the port and with a little work can be brought to a usable version. I think we should make this the official 8.x-1.x version here on the main project page and repo so that all development efforts can be focused here.

I will be working over the near future to get the module to a stable release. If this can be added to the project here, that would make it easier. Open to discussion if anyone has other thoughts.

Instead of marking this as a duplicate, I would like to refresh the conversation here, and come up with a plan to move forward and close the others once a decision has been made.
