Could you please provide steps to reproduce? I added the “Rendered item” field to my search view but it still validates fine.
Moreover, the settings keys actually failing validation in your case (link_to_item, …) aren’t actually part of the “Rendered item” field plugin, so it seems more like your configuration being in an inconsistent state for some reason.

I think you are onto something here. I've cleaned up the config on this old site and this isn't needed any more.
