Hi everybody,

I have a report error when the cron job tries to indexe the items :
SearchApiException : Could not index items since important pending server tasks could not be performed. in search_api_index_specific_items()

When I indexe item manually, there's no problem. The problem is only when the cron job runs.

Thanks for any help.

The difference between indexing manually and via cron is weird. Maybe Cron tries to execute an action that fails?
In any case, are there any further messages in Drupal's log ("Reports" » "Recent log messages"), detailing what "important server tasks could not be performed", or why?

PS: Only assign an issue to yourself if you plan to work on it (i.e., prepare a patch for it).

Hi Drunken Monkey,
Thanks for your answer and your help.

You're right, I have error messages in reports logs from cron.php.
First, this message:
SearchApiException while deleting items from server SolR: "0" Status: : php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in SearchApiSolrConnection->checkResponse() (line 541 of /***/sites/all/modules/contrib/search_api_solr/includes/solr_connection.inc).

Second, this message:
SearchApiException while trying to index items on Index CDE: Could not index items since important pending server tasks could not be performed. in search_api_index_specific_items() (line 1511 of /***/sites/all/modules/contrib/search_api/search_api.module).

I confess, I understand nothing what does it mean.

Thanks again for any help.
Alex

PS: I understand now what does the assigned field mean, thanks.

This seems to say that the Solr server couldn't be reached for some reason, which – I think – is outside of the module's control. You'll have to investigate yourself why this fails – as a starter, perhaps take a look at this Stack Overflow question.
Maybe there's additional information in your web server's logs, if you can access them.

Why this only fails during cron is another interesting question, this shouldn't really have any effect. Or are you maybe using a non-standard way of executing cron (e.g., via Drush)?

Just for posterity, you may also see this SearchApiException if disk space has been filled on your Solr server. :(

In this case, further log entries should point out that there's no space left on the device.
