I have setup search_api & facet_api & entity api. I am using the database service
Everything works great, nice and quick to setup. Facets are working perfectly displaying filtered results.

I am now trying to add a map to show where the filtered results are located. Several attempts:
A) I set up an openlayers map as a block but this only displays the complete results on map not the filtered results. I could not connect it to my original search index view.
B) I also tried to setup openlayers as an attachment to my original view (got views ajax error and a broken view)
C) I also tried to use gmap as an attachment to the view (broken view)

Is there a ideal way to facilitate this using A or B or C or other while using the database service?

I have done D6 sites with SOLR and gmap results in the past, Is using solr the only option for displaying faceted results on a map in D7?? I would like to stick with "database service" if possible since it is a small site.

The Search API Location project adds Views integration for location searches. I'm not sure whether it supports using a map with Views, but you might want to check it out if you haven't already. You probably shouldn't use it as-is, though, as it is scheduled for a rehaul (#1798168: Major module modifications).
Other than that, I have no ideas, I haven't really tried to do this yet.

do you mean exposing the map or map-like visual information within the search results?

i'm using search api location to expose location as a facet (and facetapi bonus to make some conditional elements), though remember to set them to string from fulltext to generate the facets (at least i had to)

right now i'm using leaflet because it's simply more awesome than anything else and i love the cluster code...however, i also believe that you should be able to add the leaflet map field and index it and then display within search results but i have NOT tried this...is that what you're trying to do? add a map element into the search results, or do you mean use the map as the interface and expose the facets to the side or to filter results?
