How do you use features to save you mappings to content types and its fields. I keep losing my mapping on new install or reverts.

Under features, I am selecting the content type in schema.org mappings section (Node: ContentType) as well as the strongarm variable (schemaorg_ui_type_ContentType). Any things else I should be doing? (can't see anything else related)

There is a category called "Schema.org mappings" where the content types should be listed. Select those whose mappings should be exported. See this screenshot I took using features 2.x:

Note also this bug related to features which have been fixed in the latest development snapshot: #1853590: Features doesn't default-tick for export

As I mentioned, I do use the content type from the schema.org mappings. I just:

* set it again (schema.org mappings section (Node: ContentType)),
* downloaded the feature,
* replaced the existing one,
* refreshed the features page

result:
Schema.org mapping content type is not selected/checked. The strongarm schemaorg_ui_type_ContentType is checked.

(just seeing the latest post) Are you saying I need to go to features dev for the schema.org mappings to save?

not features -dev, I mean schema.org -dev.... but I will release a new version of schema.org soon so you can also wait a day or two.
