Forgive me if I'm missing something basic, but from my understanding I should be able to choose an option in the Content Type edit page to allow users to bypass required validation when saving as draft. I do not see this option. Please advise how to use this option. Please see attached screen grab. This is where I'm expecting this option to appear.

I'm on drupal 7.50

Are you using the stable or the dev version? That functionality has not been release as a stable yet. I suggest updating to the dev version.

Yes that's right, it is in the dev branch only at this stage.

I'm working on a new release now so it should be in a stable release in the next few days.
