I am having trouble uninstalling and restoring the original functionality of my site. Is there a manual way to uninstall (or at least ensure that it has been uninstalled) this module?

I have already deactivated, uninstalled, and deleted files in the directory, but it still behaves the same (require password to access).

I was able to uninstall without any problems. Go to /admin/modules and uncheck "Require Login".

If your still being prompted for a password, it sounds like your using Shield or another .htpasswd method to restrict access.

Problem identified. An additional module called node access was preventing unauthorized people from viewing pages. Problem has been fixed and Require Login works as designed.
