Spent a good part of a day trying to figure out why the forward module does not send emails. When I deactivated the user referral module the forward module worked just fine.
Then I found this link -- https://www.drupal.org/node/1547252 -- which explains the exact same problems I'm having to get these two modules to work TOGETHER. The link states the issue is not resolved.
There is more than one issue, however, when both modules are enabled together:
1- forward module does not email at all! Not working.
2- The referral LINK does not work.
I tried both 7.x-1.0-beta4 and 7.x-1.x-dev for the user referral module AND 7.x-2.1 for forward module.
Not sure why both projects state the modules work well TOGETHER when they do not as of yet.
