We are using the Rate module to run a photo contest on our staff Intranet site. Once enabled, users are able to vote just fine, but at some point it spontaneously stops saving votes. Users click on the stars, and it says "Saving..." but it doesn't count the vote, and does not save it to the database. Nothing we've tried fixes the issue, and we were able to reproduce after rolling back.

It seems like this happens when too many people are voting at once.

Anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

Update: It seems like it's due to the built in spam/bot filtering. Because it's an Intranet site, all votes come from the same IP even though they are different users.

Is there a way to disable the IP blocking feature?
