The attached patch does three things:

1. Improves SEO by making quotes-by-author pages link to the author name instead of the author id
2. Adds authors to the search criteria
3. Adds authors to the available tokens (for better pathauto support)

The patch was created by "cvs diff" relative to a current checkout of the DRUPAL-6--1 tag. To apply it,

cvs -z6 -d:pserver:anonymous:anonymous@cvs.drupal.org:/cvs/drupal-contrib checkout -r DRUPAL-6--1 -d quotes contributions/modules/quotes

You apparently made a change to the block table manually and didn't update quotes.install. I can handle that.
