I want the author field sortable, or at least can be active like a taxonomy. So when we click the author name, we are brought to a page containing all the quotes created by the author (please be aware, it's the author of the the quotes, not the author or poster of the node!). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

nancydruYou say "sortable," but you describe it as linked. Some time ago, I submitted a patch that adds Views support, and in that, the author is sortable, and probably linkable. But I think linking the author from the list page is do-able. Sorting might also be do-able with "tablesort_sql".

nancydruIn the new 5.x-1.2 release, Views support is available. If you want a sample View with selectable author (or citation) filtering, I have such a thing. If I get a few minutes to read the Views documentation, I'll actually add that sample View.

nancydruPlease try the 5.x-1.x-dev version. There is now a setting to make authors linked.
After you try that out, then try a URL of "quotes/author" and see how that looks.
Please provide feedback.
