for some reason I can't change the appearance of the quote box, I'm editing quote.css but the changes doesn't take affect so I'd like to have some help on that !!

What quote.css are you editing? It's not good practice to edit the one in the modules folder. Instead you should copy it to your theme's folder and include it in the theme's info file. Anyway this shouldn't affect your issue.

Do you have CSS caching enabled? If you do then you need to clear the cache to see the changes, Devel modules gives you a useful block with such options. Or you can disable CSS caching while changing your styles.
