I'm trying to set up Bridged Networking. My host is Win xp sp3. I'm looking at the instructions here: http://drupal.org/node/789006
I change the "Attached to" field from "NAT" to "Bridged adapter". I've got only one network adapter on the actual system so that one was chosen. When I start quickstart there is the red "!" for the connection status. I click on it - but there is no "Auto eth0" to choose - only "Auto eth1" - and that makes Ubuntu look for a wireless connection, which fails.
Any idea what my problem might be?

Benj commentedI can't believe I've got this working.
As there was no Auto eth0 connection - I went to VPN Connections -> Configure VPN, under the red "!". There I added a new connection under wired connections using the MAC address I copied from the VirtualBox Network Settings.
I also made a hole in the router's filter for that MAC address.
This is a couple layers too deep for me to really understand at the moment. I'm suspicious it was this easy to set up. I mean, I'm sitting here with two Win XP systems looking at a phpinfo() page on a virtual Linux machine running on one of them.
Good work on this Michael.
Hey, should we have the username:password for the example.dev Drupal install? I tried quickstart:quickstart.
