If I downgrade to php 5.2 with these instructions http://randyfay.com/node/63 (pointed out in the quickstart FAQ) xdebug & profiling stops working. For example http://example.dev?XDEBUG_PROFILE=true doesn't create a profile file into websites/logs/profiler
Also If I try to create new site via drush I get errors like these:
Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/sqlite3.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/sqlite3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/uploadprogress.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/uploadprogress.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/xhprof.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/xhprof.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Is there any way of downgrading php without things breaking?

MichaelCole commentedHi,
PHP 5.2 compatibility isn't high on the priority list.
IMHO there are lots of good PHP 5.3 hosting options, and time is better spent upgrading old modules than downgrading.
However if you figure out how to do this and want to share, post up on this issue and we can add it to the documentation.
Good luck!
