Do you see any improvement by using 64bit on AMD processors ?
After switching to the new version of quickstart (64bit) I have strange value reported by devel.
On the same website, when i load modules page (/admin/modules) on qs 0.9.1 32bit it was around 11MB
and on qs 1.0 amd64bit it is now 52MB !
I know that 64bit version of the same 32bit software generally use more memory:
after fresh restart:
- ubuntu64bit uses 322MB,
- ubuntu 32bit uses 202MB...
On a fresh example.dev, on module page:
-ubuntu 64bit: 11MB
-ubuntu 32but: 6MB
The page generation is equivalent I don't see any improvement.
So what's the point of 64bit...?

MichaelCole commentedHi, the 64bit version has better virtualization support, and can run faster on some processors. It's a complicated topic, so YourMileageMayVary.
64 bit processes take more memory than 32 bit processes.
I wouldn't worry about the memory differences between the versions myself.
