This project is not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy.

Quick Actions adds a row of buttons above admin listings such as the content overview. Each button links to a page or downloads a file, so editors always have templates, guides and related tools one click away.

Features

  • Link buttons for internal paths or external URLs, optionally opening in a new window.
  • File download buttons. Files are uploaded on the settings page and tracked with file usage.
  • Show each button to everyone or only to selected roles.
  • Drag-and-drop ordering.
  • Optional custom SVG icon per button. The markup is sanitized.
  • Place the buttons in any View header, footer or empty area (Global: Quick actions), or as a block.
  • Uses the active theme's button styles, so it matches Claro, Gin and other themes. Responsive on all screen sizes.

Typical uses: an import template next to the content list, a style guide link for editors, or shortcuts to related admin tools.

Post-Installation

  1. Grant the Administer quick actions permission to the roles that should manage the buttons.
  2. Go to Configuration » User interface » Quick actions (/admin/config/user-interface/quick-actions) and add buttons.
  3. The buttons appear above /admin/content straight away. To show them elsewhere, add Global: Quick actions to a View's header, or place the Quick actions block.

Additional Requirements

Only Drupal core: the File module, and Views for the View integration. Works with Drupal 10.3 and 11.

None.

Similar projects

  • Views Add Button adds "create entity" buttons to Views. Quick Actions adds any link or file download, with role visibility, managed from one page.
  • A Global: Text area header in Views can hold links, but needs HTML editing per View and cannot upload files or show links per role.
