I've been using Project and Project Issue 7.x for almost a year now. I recently upgraded from an older dev release to the latest 7.x-2.x-dev (2013-08-31). Since that upgrade, I've been getting the following error when trying to create a new issue:

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /path/to/drupal/sites/all/modules/project_issue/project_issue.module on line 358

This comes with the usual white screen of death. I'm only using Project and Project Issue, and not any of the other modules (release etc.). Drupal 7 is updated to the latest release (no dev releases).

Not being a PHP wizard, I'm not really sure what this error means, sadly.

That error is being thrown during the field_project validation.

/**
 * Validation callback for the field_project field element.
 */
function project_issue_field_project_validate($element, &$form_state) {
  // Always update the node entity saved in form_state in order to allow other
  // fields to be populated with correct values (e.g. 'field_issue_assigned').
  $form_state['node']->field_project[LANGUAGE_NONE][0]['target_id'] = $form_state['values']['field_project'][LANGUAGE_NONE][0]['target_id'];
}

I know the last commit to 7.x-2.x-dev (2 days ago) resolves a few PHP notices related to the 'create issue' form, though I haven't seen this particular notice appear ... it may be worth trying the most recent dev release, to see if those changes may prevent this.

If they don't, then there is an issue with your project reference field, or rather, the value it's trying to submit with the form; which will require some additional debugging if we can't reproduce it locally.

Is this still happening with the alpha1 release? I haven't seen this.

Thanks!
