It would be TOTALLY AWESOME if this module could make a Postal Code webform component available....

It's an interesting idea. I recently used Webform 6.x-3.x for a project. I wasn't a fan (architecturally speaking) of the older versions of Webform, but I was really impressed with the 6.x-3.x branch. It was super easy to create new components via Webform hooks.

Anyway, your suggestion is a good one. However, I probably won't get to it anytime soon due to my professional obligations. I'd be willing to take it on as a sponsored assignment if there's enough interest and contributions from the community.

I was looking at this as a potential part of a solution I need to build more or less ASAP, but this is such a tiny part that it makes more sense for me to code around it. And we couldn't put up a bounty on it, since it's nonessential. But I think it would be a really useful component for cases where you really need to have an accurate zip, or you needed to use the zip to drive some subsequent action (the case for us).
