It says there: "this functionality is now built in to the module (as of Jan. 26, 2007). Users can now go in their preferences and choose whether to receive no email, a daily email or an email for every privatemsg."

However - its not too clear if this exists because I do not receive any email account after receiving a private message. I also could not find the user preference for specifying whether to receive "no email, a daily email or an email for every privatemsg". I see " 'Aggressive notification of new messages' default" but I think that means displaying new messages as an alert on the page.

Is this functionality to send email for every PM available?

I've not used this module but the user preferences could be in the user profile?

Nothing in My Account/Edit Profile. There's a section there for Private Message settings but nothing to specify/configure email notifications for PM.

Here are the options I see under Private message settings:
- Allow private messages : Check this box to allow users to send you private messages.
- Aggressive notification of new messages : Show status message on every page until new messages are read.

Since it doesnt seem to be there, I'll classify this issue as a bug/documentation error for now. Please advise.

I got the same issue. In fact, in the previous version (5x.1x) this functionality worked. But since the 5x.3x, it does not.
Any idea ?
