It would be great to be able to send a PM to more than one user at a time. This could be done by entering multiple user names in the To box separated by comma or space. Also, the Contacts drop-down could be a multiple select field.

Just a thought.

I just afraid that it would raise another issue on spamming if allow members to send to multiple recipient, btw similar request has been requested here http://drupal.org/node/86670 but it is more toward function for the administrator.
