The module seems to work fine on my remote host, but on my local dev environment (I use Acquia Dev Desktop), i get a white screen when attempting to access the website after closing the window (upon refreshing, it shows shows the website but i am logged out). I am selecting the remember me option and i set the php session cookie expiration to 0 (as instructed).

There shouldn't be any environment-specify limitations, and your description sounds like it very well could be an error with the token validation process.

Are you able to enable error reporting to show any PHP errors instead of the whitescreen, or are there any errors in your site logs when the error occurs?
