The check/uncheck will select the column to the right of the controls, not the current column as it should.

I'll have to investigate further, and test out the better_perms module.

My intention is to actually include a similar expand/collapse feature with this module. There are a few other things that may be present in other modules that will integrate well here to really push all the proper features that should be available on the permission management page(s).

It appears that the better_perms module is doing some DOM manipulation that changes the core structure of the permissions table, and is what is causing issues with integration here. I will continue to look for the best solution to this.

Two years later ... I can confirm that if I have the Better Perms module enabled, the check all/uncheck all in Permission Select doesn't work. If I disable Better Perms, Permission Select works fine.

I'd really like to be able to use them both at the same time.
