I have a problem with links created by pathauto
Links to groups in the form group/groupname, that used to work, no longer function. Instead of pointing to the group, they point to the homepage

the links typed using ?q function OK: ?q=group/groupname
the links typed using to /node/[nid] do work OK
I am using Drupal Commons.

I checked out in phpmyadmin: in url-alias table, there is a row linking the group path to the corresponding node/nnnn:

pid: 2182
src: node/1041
dst: group/proactive-bank

When I type http://myDomain/node/1041, I get the group page
when I type http://myDomain/group/proactive-bank, I get channeled to the home page instead of showing the group page

I have since tried the drush command suggested in https://drupal.org/node/236304:
drush php-eval '_pathauto_include() ; node_pathauto_bulkupdate()'
and also opened a node and and manually edited the Url path settings entry
and also went into the content page, filtered for groups and selected the option Update url alias.
I still have the same problem

Finally solved after days of beating around the bush...
I still don't know the reason, but group/name paths always redirect to the home pag
Here's how I did it:

  1. in Phpmyadmin - SQL : SELECT * FROM `url_alias` WHERE `dst` LIKE 'group/%'
    (to check the list of stuff to delete on next step)
  2. in Phpmyadmin - SQL : Delete FROM `url_alias` WHERE `dst` LIKE 'group/%'
    (delete the faulty paths)
  3. go to yoursite/admin/build/path/pathauto
    to prepare to rebuild the broken paths
  4. Node paths > Groups > change the path from group/[title-raw] to groups/[title-raw]
    paths with group didn't work replace them with something else
  5. Still in Pathauto, go to General Settings > Create a new alias
    Select the option "Leave the existing alias functioning"
  6. go to drush
  7. Repeat
    drush php-eval '_pathauto_include() ; node_pathauto_bulkupdate()'
    until you get "Bulk generation of nodes completed, 0 aliases generated." . If there are too many items, increase the number of aliases to generate each time (50 by default)
