When I have pathauto enabled on my site, I get these errors:

Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in drupal_lookup_path()
Notice: Array to string conversion in drupal_lookup_path()
Warning: mb_strtolower() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in drupal_strtolower()

I don't know if it's a drupal bug or what. I just know that it goes away when pathauto is off and I can't find a solution.

I have the latest drupal 7.10 running....

Any thoughts?

Just got the same thing, it look like Custom Breadcrumb 7.x-2.x-dev was my problem... why, I do not know.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm getting the same set of errors, and it's been driving me crazy trying to fix it.

NOTE: In case you haven't the fix at http://drupal.org/node/1281640#comment-6416370 worked for me.
