I'm running the June 21 version. Should I try the august 10 version? As a suggestion, much better notes right on the detail page for the version download would be awfully nice. In fact, it would seem this should be a Drupal standard. Here is what is on the page:
This is a forward port of 6.x-2.x (which is very similar to 6.x-1.x) but is updated for 7.x core.
If you use either 6.x-1.x or 6.x-2.x you should be able to update directly in the "normal way."
This is still very new and may contain lots of bugs.
This seems awfully old and is completely unimormative. How about. "This is a dev build and I am in the middle of changing things so it won't work at all", or "version is relatively stable and I changed, this, this, and this since the last update which was june 21". Thanks.

tsvenson commented@flightrisk I usually use the "View commits" link in the "Maintainers Info" block (top block in the right sidebar) to find out what the changes are between the version I'm using and the version available on the project page.
They are fairly easy to read and also for each commit it says to which branch then where committed.
In your case, there is only one 7.x commit that has been made to the version you use.
