port Drupal 8

As usual :)
Need time and understanding D8 API.
Any help is welcome.

Are there any alternatives in Drupal 8 which could be mentioned on the module page meanwhile? This module is really helpful.

https://www.drupal.org/project/autoban could be mentioned or extended by a path based ban mechanism instead of a further ban module, but I couldn't find a D8 alternative to the great path2ban module yet.

There is already another module in the same space in D8 (Perimeter Defence) - which is why I'm making the decision *not* to port this to D8 at this time - duplicate modules is frustrating for everyone.

Closing as in the intervening time there has already been a comparable module produced - it just needs work.
