On my Drupal 6.x setup, I have an application which needs some image files to *always* come from the Drupal server. However the Parallel module ends up preg replacing those files messing up my further logic. Is there a way to specifically exclude certain files from the Parallel replacement logic? Any help will be appreciated.

Recommend looking into version 2 (rc5 as of this post) of the CDN module. Wim Leers has done a lot of work integrating some of the special features of parallel into his module. The main one is CDN no longer requires a core patch. CDN will use the same theme hack Parallel uses if core is not patched.

Thanks for the response mikeytown2. The Parallel module is serving my simple CDN needs well for now. It is a pretty simple module and serves the purpose well. The CDN module is next in my list, if I need to do funkier CDN stuff :)

Yep, this is supported by the CDN module :)

Note that #933942: Merge Parallel and CDN modules: migration path provides a patch that includes an upgrade path from the Paralle module to the CDN module. The CDN module is not harder to use (or *should* not be :)), it doesn't require a CDN, it also allows for custom subdomains to be used, if that's what you want.
