Not an issue, just a report.
I gave this module a go and saw speed increases when I redirected the images. Once I added either (or both) js and css, the gains turned to losses. Page load times fell from 13-15 on average to 7-9 seconds as calculated by chromes developer tools.

FWIW I was testing on a page which had an imagecached gallery of 32 images.

just a tip. do not make more then 4 DNS Requests. With more the 4 Request the site is getting slower in the browser.

Try like this:

1. www.domain.com
2. img.domain.com
3. css.domain.com
4. Google Analytics GA.js or urchin.js
