When creating a new pane (Add content), the newly created pane does not receive the "status: changes not saved" message. Instead, the previous pane does. If saved afterward, the previous pane is overridden with a duplicate of the desired new pane.
Also, if a pane is added and moved before saving, it may disappear and not be saved.
This behavior is reproducible, but not predictable.
Thanks.

Iho Tea commentedConfirm,
behaviour of Panels is not predictable while adding new content to the panes like node content, widgets,
or updating /saving the results.
Content of panes usually is duplicated with a new one element, while deleting some (not all) older components even saved earlier.
The only way to cope with it almost definitely, i found, is returning to the general Pages or Panels page - this manoeuvre saves info.

merlinofchaos commentedThis is a known issue with the new "Update and Save: button, which is fixed in -dev.
