First of all, views 3 is truly extraordinary. Fine, fine work, Earl.
My basic request is that I want to use panels node template variant to change the look of a node within a view.
I have a view that I would like to change the style of... basically a slightly modified table format. Creating a new view style (beyond table, grid, list) seems like a morass of .tpl editing and that is a bit beyond my skill level.
With a panels node template variant, I have achieved exactly the format I am looking for... if I could generate a list of nodes in this format, I would be in hog heaven.
Is there any way to have views render each node in the view with the panels node template variant format?

merlinofchaos commentedIn order for this to work, there would need to be a view style that loads the node and then renders the appropriate variant. In theory this would not be a great deal of work, because the node/% page is pretty static, you can very easily get to the variants and run through the proper motions. In reality I suspect there may be a few bumps along the way (titles and breadcrumbs come to mind, though I think the system is pretty good about not just overwriting them unnecessarily now). I can see where this would be a very valuable thing to do.
